Sep. 10th, 2008 05:21 pmHappy Big Bang Day, everyone! I feel very proud of myself, as I brought this to the attention of our team at work yesterday, and reassured at least one person that, no, it is not going to create a black hole and destroy the Earth- at least, not until October.
Finished Nation yesterday. I love it like cake. I cackled like a witch at the mental image of Richard Dawkins getting attacked by a tree-climbing octopus. I also went a bit mental and bought another Les Mis CD because this one has someone other than Colm Wilkinson as Valjean, and Hey Mr Producer, because it has Julie Andrews and Michael Ball and John Barrowman and Brian Blessed and Judi Dench and Hugh Jackman and Elaine Paige and Philip Quast (I still have trouble accepting that he's Philip Off Play School) and Lea Salonga and Colm Wilkinson. And the Original Broadway soundtrack of My Fair Lady with Julie Andrews, cos she's awesome. Sadly no Jeremy Brett as Freddy, and they shouldn't have dubbed him in the movie because his singing voice is fine and they dubbed him with some generic-sounding bloke and it made Brett sad and now we'll never hear Brett sing it because he's dead.
It's Katrina's drama assessment thing tonight. She has to do a one-person monologue-type thing. She's written this thing where she's a receptionist in Heaven, and has to sort out which prayers go to which deity and which souls go to which afterlife. She says she had everyone in stitches during the dress rehearsals, so hopefully it'll go well.
