COLD WIND RAIN COLD COLD WET COLD COLD WIND COLD RAIN!!! I have a scarf and gloves and I actually NEED them to stop from getting FROSTBITE. It's a new experience. And now that we have a bank account we can set up a internet thingie for mum's laptop. They won't even talk to you unless you have a UK bank account. But now we have, so we have the net. Yay!
We're looking at houses, like this one that costs, like, three-and-a-half grand a month to rent, with six bedrooms and a study and a gameroom and a BREAKFAST ROOM, and one of the bathrooms has a bidet or however you spell it. I'm intimidated by this house.
We've been to three different motels. The first one had three different rooms in three different buildings and you could'nt live in the room with your suitcase and still be able to walk around, so we went to a second one which was beautiful. I want my real house to be like that motel, except with another bedroom. And it was on the ground floor, so we didn't have to lug our suitcases up a flight of stairs. But it was a bugger for Dad to get to work, so now we're in this new motel which is slightly smaller and we had to lug our suitcases up TWO flights of stairs. It's just a short walk away from the train station/shops/LIBRARY YAY.
So we're hoping to move to Gerrards Cross which according to the taxi driver is the Beverly Hills of England where all the rich and snooty live. Hence the three storey six bedroom half-an-acre grounds houses available for rent there.
OMG Aladdin is showing as a play type thing in the West End, and it's sort of Aladdin-gone-drag-and-on-a-time-machine-to-the-20th-century. AND SIR IAN McKELLEN IS IN IT!!! IWANNAGOIWANNAGOIWANNAGO!!! SQUEEEEEE!!!
We still need to pick out a school but I suppose we'd better find out what suburb we're living in first. I think they start school at nine thirty or so over here, because we were driving around at nine oclock and a bunch of kids were walking along with backpacks. That seems late.
The Two Towers was on cable a couple of days after we arrived at 8 at night, and we were still getting over the jet lag thing, but I stayed up and watched all of it. I feel proud.
Also, guess who's providing the movement for the motion-capture stage in Peter Jackson's King Kong? That's right, our old friend Andy. Yay for you.
