Les Miserables last night was good. Javert was really good-looking and had this Marquis de Carabas-type long leather coat on, which was a bit distracting. His voice was really good. He had an accent which I said was 'not Germany, but that sort of area', and it turns out he's Dutch. I win at accent recognition! Both Cosette and Eponine sang really well. I was slightly confused by Javert's death scene- they seemed to decide that jumping off a bridge was too hard to do on-stage, so instead he was torn apart by zombie prostitutes. I think. Thenardier reminded me of Mr Bean a little bit, and he and Mme. Thenardier were obviously having huge fun with their roles. Marius was leaping around the stage like someone had force-fed him three bottles of red cordial.
