Meh, not bad. It got pretty slow after Ian McKellen left. You know how, in the first couple of Harry Potter movies, they pretty much followed the books but they left a bunch of stuff out and the movies were rather dull? Same thing here. They definitely could have cut a lot out of the last half an hour. It was a whole bunch of stuff that wasn't in the book, and Tom Hanks took fifteen minutes to say, essentially, "Your grandfather wasn't actually your grandfather, and you are the latest addition to the bloodline." Then there was this stuff about Sophie not being able to walk on water, or something, and then Tom Hanks was for some reason back in Paris, and he cuts himself shaving, which suddenly makes him realise "OMG! It's buried in the Louvre!" The end.
Ian McKellen was the best thing in it. He got all the best lines. He went mental at the end, though. Silas was a few sandwiches short of a picnic, too. He looked drugged and stared into the middle distance the whole time, even when he was supposed to be speaking to someone. Tom Hanks looked drugged half the time. Everyone else was a bit... dull. That sums it up for me. It wasn't a bad movie, it was just boring.
Not everyone shared my opinion. On the bus back, some girls were rhapsodising about it. One girl proclaimed "That was such a good movie! I want to watch it over and over! It was even better than Nemo!
I had my first driving lesson. It wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. She got me onto Stirling Highway and I didn't know until she told me afterwards. I managed to stall the car four times in an hour and a half.
